Kentucky Airmotive's main business is teaching people to fly. At our airport, we do not have to compete with the airlines. This means more flying time and less ground time for your money, and usually receiving your licenses in less total time. Kentucky Airmotive students usually solo between 10 to 14 hours, compared to 15-20 hours at other flight schools.

Kentucky Airmotive, Inc. uses a Jeppesen Training Syllabus and Cessnas for flight instruction. We have two flight instructors with years of experience, and have been teaching for thousands of hours. Our instructors will be able to teach you all aspects of flying necessary to pass the checkride, but our instructors go beyond that. They see that you receive the correct instruction both on the ground and in the air, to be a proficient, safe, and competent pilot. That is what it's all about, being the most proficient and the safest pilot you can be. This is what we at Kentucky Airmotive strive to achieve.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How much will it cost for a private pilot license?

A: It depends on your flying habits, but most of Kentucky Airmotive students run around $5500.00, spread out over a 6 to 10 month period.

Q: Why fly at Mount Sterling Airport?

A: We are set up better for training at the Mount Sterling Airport because we do not have to compete with the Airlines. This means our students get more flying time and less ground time. Our students usually end up with 45-50 Hours Total time, where other facilities tend to have more Hours because of the training environment.

Q: What other advantages does Mount Sterling have?

A: We can do all the training and testing at our airport without going to another airport. We can give you the flight training, the written test and the check ride without the additional cost of going to another airport.

Q: Does your instructor charge for ground time?

A: At Kentucky Airmotive, our instructors only charge for ground time when the student is getting ready for the written examination. A normal lesson at KAI would include a pre-flight briefing and post flight briefing with no additional cost. If you flew one hour with the instructor you would only be billed for one hour of instructor time and one hour of aircraft time.
